Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all. Psalm 34:19

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Merciful God, let your light shine from our hearts. Although we may be hard pressed on every side, help us not to despair. May our faith grow stronger, knowing that you will walk beside us while on earth and that one day you will take us to be with you in heaven. Amen.
