Dear Friends,
As we continue our appeal for donations to fund the Oral History Project, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all of you who have taken the time to respond to my previous post. I would also like to invite those of you who haven't had a chance to donate to do so now.
As I mentioned earlier, scores of Henri Nouwen's students and colleagues, as well as many who developed a relationship with him through letters, remained staunch friends with Henri until his death.
A number of these individuals are still with us. And they each have illuminating stories to tell about Henri, about his work, and about the impact Henri had on each of their lives.
We have already recorded and transcribed over 100 interviews that make up the Oral History Project. These recordings provide a valuable resource for scholarship and education. They also speak eloquently about the influence and ongoing fruitfulness of the life of Henri Nouwen.
We are about to enter the final phase of this project with the goal of capturing the remaining essential interviews. It is critical that we record these personal stories before these important voices are lost forever.
Your generous support will help with this important undertaking To this end, we are looking to raise $200,000, the amount required to complete this historic project in an efficient and timely manner. At present, we are well below our target and urgently need your help.
Your donation will ensure Henri's life continues to bear fruit
If you haven't done so already, please consider supporting the Oral History Project. These recorded remembrances speak deeply and wonderfully about the life and legacy of Henri Nouwen and will continue to influence lives for generations to come.
Your gift will help ensure that the work of the Henri Nouwen Society resonates around the world. We are immensely grateful for your financial support.
Faithfully,
Karen Pascal Executive Director
