Who's choosing? I wonder if our beliefs (at least some of them) actually choose us. I'm not referring to whether or not a god chooses us, such as is the case with Calvinists or "semi-Calvinists." But I wonder about the effects of culture, upbringing, education and what seems to be a plethora of other possible contributors possessing the power to influence human beings in very significant ways, both conscious and unconscious to us. I mean, do we really choose, and if we do, do we choose that which already seems to resonate within us?
