Dear Friends,
As we continue the Henri Nouwen Society Spring Appeal through the month of April, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all of you who have taken the time to respond to my previous post - and to invite those of you who would still like to donate to do so. As I wrote earlier, we have a renewed focus to offer hope to, and develop resources for, the many who suffer from loneliness. It's a growing malaise that affects people of all ages the world over. Just this week, a follower of our HNS Facebook page wrote this in response to one of our posts on loneliness: "So interesting that you would post this as it is exactly where I'm at today. I'm very lonely and alone. Although I know God is out there somewhere, I'm not very close to God these days..." Henri writes so clearly about understanding the pain of one's loneliness. Many lives have been opened to a newer and richer understanding of God's love in the midst of their pain through Henri's spiritual insight and perspective. If you haven't done so already, please consider supporting our work. Your gift will make a real difference in the life of someone who feels isolated, rejected, and alone by helping us offer hope and spiritual encouragement through the words and wisdom of Henri Nouwen. From all of us at the Henri Nouwen Society, thank you! Faithfully, Karen Pascal Executive Director |
