Joy and Gratitude

HNS logo

Everything that is, is given by the God of love. All is grace. Light and water, shelter and food, work and free time, children, parents and grandparents, birth and death - it is all given to us. Why? So that we can say gracias, thanks: to God, thanks to each other, thanks to all and everyone.

- Henri J.M. Nouwen,
Gracias! A Latin American Journal

Dear Charles,

Happy Easter! Over the past six weeks Henri Nouwen was our Lenten guide, helping us to prepare for Easter. Did you know that Easter is the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church?

We hope you appreciated the special Lenten e-meditations that we sent to you each week. In addition to this, over 300 people participated in our facilitated online Lenten discussion group. Wonderful!

Easter changes everything. No matter what sorrows you may have in your life, Easter lifts you up into the place of gratitude, where light overtakes darkness, hope dispels despair and where life overcomes death.

Will you please consider expressing the joy and gratitude of this first week of Easter by making a financial gift to the Nouwen Society? Each week we invest staff time and money so that we can send you the Nouwen daily and seasonal e-meditations. Your financial gift, at whatever level is right for you, will help to fund this ministry of the heart. You can donate safely and easily from our website. To donate in US dollars, please click here. Canadian donor? Please click here.

With many thanks and blessings,
