PRESS RELEASE
December 9, 2014 | Toronto, ON Canada We are pleased to announce that Karen Pascal has been appointed Executive Director of the Henri Nouwen Society and The Henri Nouwen Legacy Trust. Having served as a Board Member of the Society since its inception, as a Trustee of the Legacy Trust, and most recently, as Chair of both, Pascal is passionate about the importance of Nouwen's contribution to our understanding of Christian spirituality and brings her vision, energy and experience to lead the ministry. Karen has deep connections to the legacy of Henri Nouwen having first met Henri in 1993 when she featured him on the television series Cross Currents. After Henri died in 1996, Pascal produced the award-winning (Vision/PBS) film Journey of the Heart - the Life of Henri Nouwen, telling the moving story of this beloved yet restless 'wounded healer'.
Founder and President of Windborne Productions, Karen Pascal brings to this new position her extensive background in the visual arts, strong business acumen, and her success as a filmmaker with numerous award-winning productions. Karen is passionate about extending the legacy of Father Henri Nouwen - one of the most sought after spiritual guides of our time. People hunger for voices that can speak to the heart and mind. I want to turn up the volume of Henri Nouwen's voice in an increasingly noisy and fractured world. His insight and guidance are ever-more important in a society where loneliness, isolation and spiritual "homelessness" are on the rise. Henri's words speak the language of the heart revealing that we truly are God's beloved. - Karen Pascal
Karen Pascal is a graduate of the University of Michigan, mother of two, grandmother of five and lives on the outskirts of Toronto, Canada.
The Henri Nouwen Society and The Henri Nouwen Legacy Trust have just moved to new offices at 95 St. Joseph Street.
